These articles shall also not only comprise flaws and failures of and complaints against the hypotheses of the so-called Evolution Theory, but even more proclaim the greatness of your Creator and Savior Yeshua HaMashiach! Hallelujah!

Today I have chosen a theme that might be not so familiar to everybody, but I will try to keep it as simple as possible (it will also not always explain the background on all the facts, because this would take a complete book. So, if you would like to know more about it, you should read those facts in books!).

Today let’s have a look at Astronomy, which deals with the universe, galaxies, stars and other celestial bodies. I bet a lot of you have stood looking up to the sky during a clear night and marveled about the origin and the purpose of all those lights above! And the first systematic observations took place in the ancient advanced civilizations of the Babylonians, Egyptians, and the Chinese. But the problems and indissoluble task of the Astronomy is to penetrate the mysteries of the universe with our limited capabilities of measuring its characteristics (still including the problems we have to definitely explain the correct characteristics / dualism of the light itself! I’m mentioning this here, because many of our today’s measures of distances of heavenly objects rely on light emissions). But let’s have a look, what science found out until today:

The first problem we have is to get an impression about the dimensions of the universe. While just some hundred years ago man thought of a flat earth swimming on water with a heavenly canopy above, to which the stars were fixed, we today know that this thinking was wrong! Why our ancestors believed that at all we don’t know, because God made it clear in His Word that this was wrong thinking! Job 26:7 states that God stretches out the north over empty space; (and) He hangs the earth on nothing. Saying this in today’s words it would run: the dark space is empty, and the earth floats freely in it without suspension! The universe is gigantic, and with our naked eyes we are only able to see some 6000 stars around the earth, making it some 3000 stars above your horizon. With the invention of telescopes observation increased to some 30.000 stars, and today by using the Hubble-Telescope, radio telescopes and even space probes we estimate the whole number of stars in the universe up to some 1025 (twenty five zeros!) stars. This strongly underlines Genesis 15:5, and Jeremiah 33:22, when God emphasizes that the stars are countless. If you would have a modern computer executing 10 billion operations per second, i.e. it could count 10 billion stars in the first second, 20 billion stars after 2 seconds and so on; it would take the computer more than 30 million years to count all the stars! God alone can count them and knows them all by name, see Psalm 147:4!– how great and awesome is our God!!

As we talked before about the problems of measuring distances in the universe we have to take them as measured by the Doppler=Effect (further away stars). Doing so we determine the distance to our next galaxy, the Andromeda Gallaxy, up to some 2 million light years ( 1 light year (LY) = 5.88 trillion miles!) = 1019 miles! The diameter of Andromeda is estimated up to 150.000 LYs. Taking a needle and sticking a hole into a postcard sized photo of it, the diameter of that hole would be some 600 LYs in real. A jet, flying a 1000 m/h, would fly that distance of the hole in not less than 402 mill years!!

As we heard before we also know about the common understanding today that astronomers believe in the so-called “Big Bang”. By the today’s knowledge this theory becomes more and more obsolete, because the theory is not supported by our findings, but they make it more and more doubtable!

The Big Bang is described as an unexplainable event without a cause (contradicts the 1. Law of Thermodynamics!) – where did this gigantic energy come from?

It cannot explain convincingly how and why matter got organized into lumps (galaxies and cluster of galaxies); normally the distribution should be more continuous!

It did not predict that for the universe to be held together would have to be in the form of some strange, unknown dark form of matter. Even the strongest piece of evidence for the Big Bang has turned on it; matter is not found to be spread out uniformly. Correspondingly , the leftover radiation from the Big Bang should also be inhomogeneous. Unfortunately, the results from COBE (Cosmic Background Explorer, 1989) satellite has revealed that this wash of radiation is relentlessly uniform (isotrope) – so it conflicts with the theoretical Big Bang predictions; but the response has been Platonic retrenchment: The Big Bang has to be right! (New Scientist, Dec.1990)

Quasars have been found at the “edge” of the universe (i.a.w. the model, i.e. close to the Big Bang) 13 billion LYs away, and they contain heavier elements, e.g. carbon. As the theory demands that those elements were the results of super novae (dying stars), it puts the theory severely on the test, because at the very beginning those elements should not be in early stars yet! On the other hand this means that those quasars has to be much older than even 13 billion years!

Still today astronomers have the big problem in determining the right distances! The latest values for the Hubble-Constant, which reciprocal value should give a direct measure of the age of the universe, let to 8-12 billion years. That young age would be a contradiction to the estimated age of stars – stars cannot be older than the universe itself!

Well, mentioning some of the biggest problems of the Big Bang theory today, gives us an impression that scientists believing in those theories might really be in trouble, and poor, because of their wrong thinking.
How good for us to know that the universe and all creation are a hymn to the glory of our Creator – hallelujah!!

As Roman 1:19 ff says: “…, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse!” Glory to our Lord!
