Dear brothers and sisters,

Today we will discuss the great miracle of life. As believers we know about the creation of everything by our Lord God according to the biblical testimony recorded in the first two chapters of Genesis. But according to evolutionary thinking, life began accidentally and spontaneously based on inner powers within dead matter to combine to higher tiers. My first letter explained that inner powers in dead matter are nonsense and don’t exist based upon two clear lines of inquiry: 1. Scientifically life from dead matter contradicts mathematical-statistical laws, physical-chemical laws and thousands of tests; and, 2. according to the 2. proposition of the entropic law of thermodynamics, the disorder of an isolated system can never decrease.

The saving and transfer of genetic information is one of the most impressive proofs of the Creation. All living cells are complex structures, each containing diverse numbers of “organs” working perfectly together to make the cell function properly. Every cell has a metabolic system and multiplies by division. Chromosomes within the nucleus consisting of DNA and protein transmit hereditary characteristics. DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is assembled in spiral strands (helix). Each strand of the spiral ribbon is linked to its partner with cross-strands by using four nitrogen bases. The bases adenine, guanine, thymine, and cytosine make the “language of life”. Within RNA, ribonucleic acid, thymine is substituted by uracil. These bases consist of only six basic elements: carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur. So from this perspective one might say life consists of dead matter; this is what remains when you analyze living cells. And this is also stated by God: “And the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground” (Genesis 2:7), and “for dust you are…” (Genesis 3:19). But as we all know, life is more than just dead matter. A dead body still consists of the same chromosomes, molecules and atoms, but the factor of “life” is absent!

In human beings the DNA chains are almost 6 ? feet long in every cell nucleus! Each chain comprises six billion nucleotides, which is an enormous number if you imagine how small those cells are. If you take a ballpoint pen and draw a spot on your hand, you would color some 1,000 cells. Under that spot lies 1.25 miles of DNA, and this only within the surface area cells of the skin. Within the 50 trillion cells of the human body, our DNA comes up to a total length of more than 62 billion miles, reaching cosmic dimensions. Hallelujah to our glorious God!

Men have 46 chromosomes. Scientists still discuss how many genes that actually makes – right now they talk about some 50,000 genes. Chromosomes and genes contain instructions for how the cells form and produce all the “ingredients” for life. The information is coded by the order of the four mentioned nitrogen bases; each three of them form a triplett or codon, coding one amino acid (AA). Long chains of those AA then form proteins that are used for the biological functions within our body cells. You could say that the chromosomes form the volumes, while the genes make the chapters for the instruction. As the six billion nucleotides comprise the information of father and mother characteristics after the fertilization, half of the set (3 billion) can form at least one billion “words” (as 3 bases code 1 AA.). Written in our writing letters we would fill some 2000 books with some 500 pages – what an amazing factor of miniaturization!

For all life forms God used only 20 specific AAs! Another astonishing aspect is the fact that with those four different bases you could produce 64 (4³) different codons. To code the 20 used AAs with those 64 codons, mathematically you could have 10³⁶ (1 with 36 zeros!) different codes. But God has only used 1!

To explain the origin of this code evolutionists have an irreconcilable problem, namely, that dead matter does not have the ability to form programs, language, systems, conceptualize, or plan at all! Even the great evolutionist, J. Monod admits: “The biggest problem is the origin of the genetic code and the mechanism of its translation…. The code doesn’t make any sense as long as it is not translated. The machine for translation within a modern cell contains at least 50 macromolecular items, which on their own are coded in the DNA, i.e. the code can only be translated by already existing results of translation!” So Monod says that the code without an intellectual plan is impossible! So there is a Creator – our Lord God.

Well, I know that this is just a basic start and not complete yet, and there is still a lot to say; so I guess I have to continue this subject in the next Ha Shofar! Hopefully it wasn’t too difficult and confusing. As with any challenge, let’s look to the LORD and continually lift up the great name of our Lord Yeshua Ha Mashiach! Shalom and God bless you!
