2:00-3:30 pm, West Wing Prayer Room
GO ... (def.) To move or proceed forward, to function in proper order
The word, GO is considered one of the easiest yet most indispensable words in the vocabulary of the English language. We learn this word from a young age. Babies learn to GO before they learn to say it!
In relationship to our faith as Messianic Believers, the word GO is a non-negotiable aspect of our faith. We understand that when Yeshua commanded His 1st C. followers to GO into all the world He wasn’t telling only them to do so. He was setting a precedent for all His people of all generations including ours by sending them out and telling them to GO to others and proclaim His message. Rav Sha’ul added this dimension:
ROMANS 10:14-15 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” (NJKV)
The Hebrew prophet Daniel declared:
DANIEL 11:32b but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
With these thoughts in mind and other verses of Scripture, we are excited to announce the formation of a new, dynamic, mission-oriented group at our synagogue. We simply call this new group, the GO Group. As the name implies, this group will be an active group at our synagogue and we hope in other parts of the world including Israel.
Why start a GO Group?
A GO group will fill a much needed void at our synagogue. Our young people, both married and single, will be able to come together with their peers regularly in order to build relationships, seek out the LORD’s vision and to discern what He is commissioning them to do as a group, as representatives of Him and His synagogue at Rosh Pinah.
Who can participate in the GO Group?
The main designation for members of the GO Group will be Young Adults, including College and Career ages. The target age group begins at age 18 or 19 and extends until age 40 or so. The group will not include minors, defined as those under age 18.
What is the vision of the GO Group?
The specific vision of the group is yet to be determined. The general vision as stated above is to GO! GO is a word associated with taking action. The actions taken will include activities that help those in need at Rosh Pinah, help proclaim the Good News in word and deed, and help those who are on the field of outreach in other places around the world.
Who will lead the GO Group?
Initially, the main facilitator for the GO Group will be Rabbi Weygant. He will be facilitating the group until the group becomes settled and has its own leadership. In all matters, the GO Group will be submitted to the Elders of Rosh Pinah and also work in harmony with the Shamashim of Rosh Pinah.
When will the GO Group meet?
Initially, the group will meet from 2 – 3:30 PM each Shabbat in the West Wing Prayer Room. As outreach opportunities and projects come to light, the group may also meet at other times.
How do I become part of the GO Group?
Attend the meetings! Interact with the participants. Communicate with the Elders of Rosh Pinah. These and similar approaches will help connect all who are interested.
