Everyone is welcome! We begin with a time of pre-service worship on Shabbat from 10-10:25 a.m. You are welcome to join us. In fact, we encourage you to join us. Davidic Dance is an important part of Rosh Pinah Worship experience.  Our worship services are a unique experience of praise and worship to the LORD. It has four distinct parts that involve Hebrew Liturgy, Songs of Praise and Worship, Sermon/Teaching Time, and Kiddish or the LORD's Supper. Songs of Praise and Worship are led by our Worship Ministry Team. The Rosh Pinah worship experience is unique in very exciting and creative ways. The service may include songs of praise to God, canting, and occasionally the operation of Spiritual Gifts. The services are anointed by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) Who ushers the congregation into God's presence. Our Shabbat Morning Liturgy is a combination of blessings and confessions of faith in both Hebrew and English. Many of the songs sung are in both Hebrew and English. Do not worry if you cannot speak Hebrew. The words are transliterated to English and there are members who are willing to assist you if needed. Oneg, which is short for oneg Shabbat (Hebrew: “Joy of Sabbath”), is a meal we eat after our Sabbath morning services or other joyous occasions to express outwardly the happiness inherent in the Sabbath. Rosh Pinah Synagogue’s nursery is available for infants and toddlers up to age four. It is a caring, nurturing environment where your child can experience God's love. It provides parents the opportunity to attend worship services, knowing that their young children are in a safe and nurturing place.  We ask that you sign in on the sheet by the Nursery entrance each Shabbat. We welcome you to stay until your child is comfortable, but keep in mind that most children settle in a few minutes after your departure.   No reservations are required. Snacks and a drink will be served during nursery time. Please inform nursery workers if your child has food allergies or restrictions. For the protection of all children and caregivers, please do not bring your child to the Nursery if he or she is ill. If a child becomes ill while in the nursery, the parents will be asked to take the child home. Nursery staff cannot administer medication. Nursery ministers will not give medication to children. Please bring a labeled bag which includes a pacifier (if your child uses one), at least two diapers, a change of clothes, and all personal items your child may need such as wipes, ointment, bottles, and/or comforting blankets. All personal items should be labeled before arrival. If you forget diapers and wipes, we have some on hand. There is a minimum of two adult caregivers in the nursery at all times. The caregivers have successfully completed a background check and been vetted by leadership. People not scheduled to work in the nursery will not be permitted in the nursery. Children will be released only to parents or others a child’s parents have prearranged with the nursery workers. Parents will be contacted if a child is upset or becomes ill. In doing this, we make disciples of the next generation, equipping them to have a Biblical world view, and enabling them to be anointed world-changers. We view children’s ministry not as a baby-sitting service but as ministry opportunities to educate, equip and empower children through several innovative programs.  Our Shabbat school is for ages 4-12 years old. Children are encouraged, along with their families, to participate during the morning liturgy and worship time. After the worship time is complete the children are called forward to stand under a large tallit (prayer shawl) at the front of the sanctuary for prayer and to receive a blessing.  The children are escorted to the West Wing classrooms to work on age-specific Scriptural lessons with our teachers. Due to security and safety concerns, the children will remain in the Shabbat School rooms until parents, guardians or other designated individuals pick them up.  *"Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court."*  After our Oneg (fellowship lunch) the Children’s Shabbaton class is for ages 4-12 years old. Through this program, the children are provided the opportunity to socialize, learn and participate in activities designed to build up their faith in Messiah, their understanding of the scriptures, and their interactions with others in matters of faith and leadership all in a fun and uplifting environment.  The ministry at Rosh Pinah is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for those participating in our ministry activities. Everyone involved in our children’s ministry has successfully completed a background check and been vetted by leadership. John 4:24 says that God is "seeking" or looking for true, authentic worshipers and this is the reason we desire to be a worshiping congregation. We want people to live a lifestyle of worship unto God on a daily basis, and we want to put Yeshua at the center of our corporate gatherings. Our vision is to set the atmosphere for people to encounter God in the corporate gatherings. The Hebrew word for praise is hallel. The Hebrew for worship is shacha, to bow down, to prostrate oneself, to worship, to adore. Praise and worship of our Messiah is a major focus as our congregation comes together each Shabbat morning. As we come before Him in community with various expressions of worship, all who are present have a tremendous opportunity - to exalt the LORD together. Psalm 34:3 says, “Proclaim with me the greatness of Adonai; let us exalt His Name together.” Worship begins with an attitude and desire to seek the heart of God. Yeshua said, “True worshipers will worship in Spirit and truth” (Yochanan 4:23). In the Talmud (Chagigah 19) it is stated, “Praying without proper intent (kavanah) is like a body without a soul.” A question to consider, when we approach worship do we have the proper kavanah? Our worship teams seeks to help worshippers at all levels to have the proper kavanah before the LORD.  Our worship team is a group of anointed musicians that lead our congregation in worship and praise to the God of Israel. The LORD has been faithful to bring musicians with a heart for worship that draws us into the presence of GOD.  We are humbled each Shabbat to be able to encourage those who gather with us to express love and gratitude to the LORD. It is very important for those who participate in the worship team to feel that they are “called, appointed, and anointed” to the ministry at hand.   Praise and worship isn't just singing songs and getting a good feeling in your heart. Praise and worship is seeing God for who He really is—His power, His greatness, His holiness, His sovereignty, His love, and His compassion. Our response is to give Him what He’s worth—the best of our time, talents, thoughts, words and deeds. True worship is seeing afresh the tremendous worth of God and, in response, giving Him the best of everything you have. The prayer ministry is a vital part of our congregation and an important ministry within our community. In prayer we seek to lift up Yeshua as the LORD of our congregation and to recognize that we all have need of GOD’s help in our daily lives. We pray for the guidance of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) as people of prayer.  We continually bring prayer needs as they are made known to us before His throne of grace and rejoice as we experience the answers to prayer as He wills. We pray the LORD bless you and keep you in the power of His eternal love. During each Shabbat morning worship service we have prayer team available in the front of the sanctuary to pray with you for your needs.  We have a time of congregational prayer on each Tuesday 6:15-7:15 pm in the west wing classroom. We have a prayer room adjacent to the sanctuary that is open before our services. The Elders are available (based upon schedule) to anoint with oil and pray for healing. We have prayer request cards in the foyer of our sanctuary. It is a powerful form of worship for those who choose to participate. It is a way to express thoughts and feelings of praise that cannot be communicated with words. Just as lifting our hands to the LORD can express what is going on inside as we lift our hearts to the LORD, dancing can express the joy, celebration and worship we feel as we consider the goodness of GOD. As we consider how awesome the LORD is, it is befitting to worship Him in a way that involves our entire being – our hearts, minds, bodies and voices. It is good to praise Him with dancing! When we meet each week on Shabbat, we dance together in unity. Many of the dances are based on Israeli folk dances and are performed in a circle. Israeli folk dancing appeared with the restoration of the Jewish people to their own land more than 60 years ago.  These dances reflected the joy of a people returning to their own land. Interestingly, just as we have seen the emergence of dance with the physical restoration of the Jewish people to their land, we have also seen the emergence of dance with the spiritual restoration of the Jewish people to their Jewish Messiah, Yeshua. Are you full of joy? Come dance! Dancing is a great way to express this joy. Do you feel a deep level of worship to the LORD from your heart? Come dance! Dancing is a way of expressing worship that words cannot convey. Are you feeling down? Come dance! Offering a sacrifice of praise to the LORD is pleasing to Him, and dancing can be very uplifting. Do you feel exceedingly grateful to the LORD for all He has done? Come dance! This type of dance is a very powerful form of worship. Dance classes are at 2:00-3:30 pm each Shabbat. God has reconciled us not only to Himself but also to each other. Thus, we intentionally strive toward community through our various services, studies and ministries.  Our worship services create a culture of honor in which the LORD can be glorified. That includes the way dress and adorn ourselves, both in modesty and in traditional Jewish attire. Kippahs, Tallits, Tzit Tzit and  Women's Head Coverings are often worn as traditional garments of worship within our services.  We encourage people to seek the LORD about how they can honor Him through their attire. Located in Oklahoma City, we are a Messianic Congregation of both Jewish and non-Jewish believers in Yeshua “Jesus” of Nazareth, the Messiah. Consistent with the tenets of Messianic Judaism, Rosh Pinah maintains a Jewish identity, heritage and culture that reflects the faith and practice of the first-century Jewish believer. Our heart’s desire is to reach both Jew and Gentile with the Good News of Messiah Yeshua, and to help the Christian Community to reclaim their rich Jewish heritage.  Our study and teaching is centered upon the Jewish scriptures, consisting of the Tanach (Torah, Prophets, and Writings) as well as the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant). We study the scriptures from a Jewish perspective, recognizing that they were written and preserved by faithful Jewish men of GOD. Rosh Pinah worships on the Jewish Shabbat and we observe the Biblical Feasts and Holy Days of the LORD. Our worship service combines traditional Jewish Blessings, Messianic Jewish Worship and Praise, and Davidic Dancing. Above all, we emphasize in our congregational experience a living, vibrant and personal relationship with the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, through the Messiah Yeshua. We earnestly seek, both individually and collectively, to magnify and glorify the Lord Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah, to share the Good News of the Gospel with others, both Jews and Gentiles, thus encouraging them to believe in Yeshua as their LORD and Messiah, and to foster spiritual growth and maturity in all members. Yeshua is the Hebrew name for Jesus. Yeshua means Salvation. Today, there are tens of thousands of Messianic Jews in the United States alone. Some have estimated the number to be as high as 100,000. Messianic Synagogues are springing up in almost every major city across the country. Other nations, such as Canada, England, France, Israel, Australia and South Africa are experiencing a growing movement of Messianic Jews as well. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”  Luke 10:2 Rosh Pinah supports the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS)! The spiritual vision of the IAMCS is to see the outpouring of God's Spirit upon our Jewish people through Messianic congregations. The IAMCS is not designed to be a denominational structure, but rather to be an instrument in promoting Messianic revival and to provide for the needs of its members, whatever their affiliations. Since 1915, the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA) has been about God’s assignment for the restoration of Israel. Both the Messianic community and a small number of Christian Zionists have already played a significant role in both the physical and spiritual restoration of Israel.  God has given the MJAA clear direction to accomplish this by showing the Messiah’s heart of love through acts of kindness and good deeds in the form of humanitarian aid (1 Peter 2:15). To this end they have initiated humanitarian projects in Israel, Ethiopia, Western and Eastern Europe, and the US. Rosh Pinah supports the Young Messianic Jewish Alliance (YMJA) is a nationally recognized Messianic Jewish youth organization for young people, ages 13-30. As a branch of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA), the YMJA is the youth arm of the largest association of Messianic Jewish believers in the world. The YMJA is a vibrant organization and has expanded its vision and ministry to serve teens, college & career-aged young adults, Messianic youth leaders & youth workers, and singles. In Hebrew, this passage is called Parashat HaShavua, which means “portion of the week.” Sometimes it is called the parsha or sidra. The Jewish community follows a schedule of readings based on the Hebrew calendar. Over the course of a year, the entire Torah is read. Each reading has a name based on one of the important Hebrew words found in the opening statement of that passage. They have embraced the Micah 6:8 vision and have led the way in many justice and serving opportunities. This moment in life can be both amazing and hard, and our community of students have shown love for each other and for spreading the love of Yeshua to our community and beyond. The Rosh Pinah youth group is open for all 7th through college. They meet in the special youth wing of our facility which is next to the gymnasium.  Middle school and high school years are tough, but vital times to train students to be disciples of Yeshua. It is not uncommon in congregational settings for youths to be served watered down, fun-and-games teaching aimed at drawing more numbers and entertainment for a given period of time.  Our goal is to present our youth with the LORDship of Yeshua and the need to personally follow His call above all else. We desire to see them respond to the call of Yeshua and to be His talmidim (disciples) here in Oklahoma City and around the world. At Rosh Pinah, we aim to stand in the gap for our youth and not let them fall by weak teaching and study. We really dive into the Word each week in a structured manner that equips our youth for practical, real life challenges. We discuss critical theological principles that Messianic Jewish youth need to know.  The end goal is that our students will become theologically sound, vital members of the body of Messiah who love Yeshua and want to make His name great!  The Youth Study is every Saturday afternoon from 2:00-3:30 pm during our Shabbaton Equipping Time unless otherwise noted on our calendar of events. Our youth not only have a heart for God but a heart to serve others in practical ways. They supplement the Shabbat School classes as assistant teachers. They serve as mentors in the children’s program. In addition, the Youth Ministry sponsors a Congregational Talent Share two or three times a year.   Come join us for a fun and spiritual challenge and growth. Our goods and services are available to members, to attendees of the congregation and to the community. We desire to provide resources for Messianic believers in Yeshua and the Jewish community. All proceeds from the shop benefit the ministry of Rosh Pinah. We strive to offer Bibles, biblical items, selected books related to spiritual growth in Yeshua, Messianic Calendars, gifts, and other honoring unique Judaica items. In this way we hope to enhance personal discipleship, home observance of Shabbat and the biblical feast days listed in Leviticus, chapter 23. We try to provide stock items from Jewish believers in Israel.
